Everyone is interested in knowing how to get the natural Dermabraisive effect on their old acne scars.
Let’s discuss the problem first!
Acne scars, pits, or grooves go deep into your skin, appear like ugly potholes on your cheeks and damage the smooth surface of your skin. These scars lower self-confidence and compel you to contemplate chemical and surgical treatments.
However, what if you know that with a natural solution:
• It is possible to get the Dermabraisive effect naturally, and
• It will also provide healthy nourishment to your skin which will not only enhance your confidence but also give your skin the desired tightening effect with a youthful radiant glow. This becomes possible due to the appropriate delivery of nutrients that your skin requires through herbs, flowers, fruits, enzymes, and essential oils.
You will likely think, “Why not go for a natural solution?” You are right, but before you go ahead, you need to know some basics.
The Cause & Effect Of Excoriation Of An Acne
First, it is vital to know how acne scars get formed.
There are different types of acne – Vulgaris, large acne, painful acne, pus-filled acne, and others. Often you tend to get your hands scratching on acne, irrespective of whichever type, thinking that if you burst it, a scab will appear and the acne will subside in two or three days.
It’s a big misconception since P. acnes bacteria has already caused havoc with its ‘dance of fire’! After picking at it, it has now become such deep acne that the pore in the skin gets enlarged and accumulates more debris of dead epithelial cells, dirt, and sebum in it. Collectively these three mixed with the P. acnes bacteria are now ready to make larger painful acne on the same spot.
The Story Does Not End Here!
This acne is essentially a trauma, an inflammation of the skin. Rupturing it will not solve the problem unless the infection inside goes away. Excoriation will cause further trauma and torture. The pore will become excessively enlarged, damage the surrounding tissue, and spread the P. acnes bacteria to the surrounding skin.
As the surrounding area gets inflamed, the adjacent skin will undergo torture. The raised legion i.e. acne will stretch to create tension and cause the pores around it to enlarge. Hence, by your action of bursting, whatever P. acnes bacteria, sebum, or dirt exists inside, comes out and spread to the nearby pores. If you have already excoriated the acne, you will start seeing bunches of acne in its surrounding area within four to five days.
The After Effect Of Bursting The Acne
Further, when your excoriated acne heals up, it will leave a blemish. It has epithelial cells, dead epithelial cells, P. acnes bacteria, and excess secretion of melanin pigment. Melanin appears wherever the skin starts getting weak in order to protect it. It is obvious for Melanin to appear wherever there are blemishes.
It’s similar to tanning on our skin due to Ultra-Violet (UV) radiation. For example, consider if your forehead has been affected by UV radiation. Melanin pigment appears immediately since the UV radiation, namely UV-A and UV-B rays, have caused depletion of the moisture there. Wherever, on your skin, moisture gets depleted, the Melanin pigment – an antioxidant, appears immediately to save your skin. The appearance of Melanin pigment to protect our skin is what we infer as tanning. Once the moisture gets replenished fully again, Melanin disappears. Similarly, acne and post-acne blemishes too have Melanin pigment and dead epithelial cells.
One can never be sure of the complete eradication of the P. acnes bacteria even after the acne subsides leaving a post-acne blemish.
Once acne gets fully healed, you might see a scar, but not always. At times, after healing, it can become normal too. For a post-acne blemish to heal on its own, it usually takes about a year and a half to two years. However, within this period, if there is a re-occurrence of acne over a post-acne blemish due to P. acnes bacteria (still present but dormant), it suddenly gets active, and the skin again experiences inflammation. It will undergo repeated torture and trauma before healing on its own. This can cause a groove/pit.
The Learning So Far:
We have explained how pits form.
From the learning, it is clear that you must never excoriate acne but let it heal on its own. You can ensure that acne formation never occurs if you pay attention to your gut health and follow a disciplined skin cleansing routine.
In the next part of the blog, we will discuss how to give your skin a Dermabraisive effect naturally when you get scars. Scars formation on the skin implies that vitamin C, collagen, and vitamin B12 in that region have been destroyed, along with calcium, and magnesium minerals.
